Head to head, updated July 2026

DILR Voice vs Bland AI

This one comes down to volume, and above roughly 15,000 minutes a month Bland is cheaper than us. Bland Start is $0.14 a minute, exactly our Growth rate. Bland Build is $299 a month plus $0.12, which overtakes our flat rate at about 14,950 minutes a month. Under that, DILR Voice is cheaper and simpler. Over it, Bland is the better economics for pure outbound. The maths is charted below.

Breakeven maths on both rate cardsBland wins above 15,000 min/moWhen to pick Bland instead

The short answer

Bland is built for outbound volume and priced for it. Its tiers trade a monthly fee for a lower per-minute rate, so the more you dial, the better it gets. Above roughly 14,950 minutes a month the Build tier beats our flat $0.14, and Scale beats it above about 16,633. If cold calling at scale is the whole business, that is a real advantage and you should take it.

Below that line, a flat rate wins. At 5,000 minutes a month DILR Voice is $700 against Bland Build at $899, because you are paying $299 for a discount you have not used yet. Bland Start matches our $0.14 exactly, so at low volume the honest answer is that price is not the deciding factor: capability is.

Where Bland beats us outright: certifications. SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR and PCI DSS v4.0 on their trust page. DILR Voice has none of those. Our HIPAA-aligned work is Dilr Mira, private clinical models on your own hardware.

Bland figures from bland.ai/pricing, docs.bland.ai billing (both agree, effective December 5, 2025) and bland.ai/trust-security, read in July 2026. We have left Bland's language count and latency out of this table on purpose: published claims we found ranged from 300ms to 1.2 seconds and we could not verify any of them. DILR Voice figures from our own product page.

The maths, shown

The exact volume where Bland gets cheaper

Two published rate cards, one multiplication. This is your monthly bill at five call volumes. Watch the 20,000 column: Build and Scale both land on $2,699, which is the tier crossover falling exactly where the arithmetic says it should.

Monthly bill by call volume

Connected minutes only. Excludes our phone-number fee, Bland's transfer fees and Bland's $0.015 per-attempt minimum, all of which are in the table above. Bland Start is not plotted because at $0.14/min with no platform fee it is identical to the DILR Voice line at every volume.

DILR Voice, $0.14/minBland Build, $299/mo + $0.12/minBland Scale, $499/mo + $0.11/min
Minutes per monthDILR VoiceBland BuildBland ScaleCheapest
5,000$700$899$1,049DILR Voice
10,000$1,400$1,499$1,599DILR Voice
15,000$2,100$2,099$2,149Bland Build, by $1
20,000$2,800$2,699$2,699Bland, by $101
30,000$4,200$3,899$3,799Bland Scale, by $401

Read the right-hand column honestly: Bland wins it at volume. The crossover is 14,950 minutes a month for Build (that is $299 divided by the $0.02 rate gap) and 16,633 for Scale ($499 divided by $0.03). If you are dialling above that, Bland's economics beat ours and the rest of this page is about whether the platform difference is worth the gap. When to pick Bland AI instead

The honest case for Bland AI

A comparison written by one of the two vendors is only worth reading if it says where the other one wins. So here it is, with no hedging.

Bland AI

High-volume outbound, deterministic Pathways control

Where Bland AI genuinely wins

Cheaper than us at outbound volume, and it is not close at the top end. At 30,000 minutes a month Bland Scale is $3,799 against our $4,200. If you are dialling that much, that gap is real money every month and it compounds.

SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR and PCI DSS v4.0. All four on Bland's own trust page, none of them itemised as a paid add-on the way Vapi charges $2,000 a month for HIPAA mode. DILR Voice has none of these certifications.

One bundled per-minute number, with a declared effective date. Bland folds the LLM, speech-to-text and text-to-speech into the connected-minute rate, and its docs state when the pricing took effect. You do not have to model five line items the way you do on Retell, or source your own stack the way you do on Vapi.

Pathways. If you want deterministic, scripted control over how a call branches rather than a model deciding, that is exactly what Pathways is for.

Pick Bland AI if

You are running more than about 15,000 minutes a month of outbound, you need SOC 2 or HIPAA to clear procurement, or you want tightly scripted call flows rather than model-led conversation.

What DILR Voice does not have

The gaps we are not going to hide

Against Bland AI

DILR Voice has no SOC 2, no HIPAA and no PCI DSS, and Bland publishes all three. Bland is cheaper than us above roughly 15,000 minutes a month, and its per-day call caps go higher on the published tiers. Bland has also been in market longer with a larger outbound footprint. If your job is pure cold-call volume, buy Bland.

Where that matters

If any of the above is a hard requirement in your buying process, buy the tool that has it. We would rather lose the deal than have you find out in month three. For private, on-premise clinical models that keep patient data in your own environment, see Dilr Mira.

What people actually ask

Straight answers, including the Reddit questions

Is Bland AI cheaper than DILR Voice?
Above roughly 15,000 minutes a month, yes. Here is the maths on both published rate cards. Bland Start is $0.14 a minute with no platform fee, which is exactly our Growth rate, so at low volume the two are level. Bland Build is $299 a month plus $0.12 a minute, which overtakes our flat $0.14 at 299 divided by 0.02, or 14,950 minutes a month. Bland Scale is $499 a month plus $0.11 a minute, which overtakes us at 499 divided by 0.03, or about 16,633 minutes. So if you are running serious outbound volume, Bland is the cheaper platform and we will not pretend otherwise. Below that, our flat rate wins.
How much does Bland AI cost in 2026?
Bland publishes three self-serve tiers, effective December 5, 2025: Start at $0 a month plus $0.14 a minute of connected time, Build at $299 a month plus $0.12 a minute, and Scale at $499 a month plus $0.11 a minute. Enterprise is contracted. Beyond the per-minute rate, watch two line items: transfers cost $0.05, $0.04 or $0.03 a minute by tier (free if you bring your own Twilio), and outbound attempts carry a $0.015 minimum charged even when the call does not connect. SMS is $0.02 a message.
What is the best Bland AI alternative in 2026?
It depends on your volume and your job. If you are under roughly 15,000 minutes a month and want inbound, outbound, multi-agent handoff, RAG and per-country call compliance on one platform, DILR Voice at a flat $0.14 a minute is the closest fit and cheaper at that volume. If you want to own your model stack, Vapi. If you want managed inbound with SOC 2 and a free HIPAA BAA, Retell AI. If you need no-code, Synthflow. Our best AI voice agent 2026 guide compares all five.
What do people on Reddit say about Bland AI?
We are not going to tell you, because we cannot verify it. Reddit is not machine-readable for us, so any thread or quote we published here would be invented. We have linked live Reddit searches for Bland below so you can read the actual discussion and judge for yourself. We will also say plainly that the review-site numbers circulating for Bland are not usable: the sources we found split between 5.0 out of 5 from three reviews and roughly 3.3 out of 5, and we could not open either page to check. A rating from three reviews is not evidence anyway.
Is Bland AI or DILR Voice better for outbound calling?
Bland, if outbound volume is the entire business. It is built for it: Pathways gives deterministic scripted control, the tiers scale to 5,000 calls a day, and above about 15,000 minutes a month it is cheaper per minute than us. DILR Voice is the better fit when outbound is one half of the operation and inbound is the other: the same agents, RAG knowledge base and post-call automation serve a 24/7 inbound frontdesk and an outbound dialer in one platform, with per-country DNC, consent capture and opt-out recognition on the calls themselves.
Does Bland AI charge for calls that do not connect?
Yes, a little. Bland publishes a $0.015 minimum per outbound call attempt, charged even if the call fails to connect. That is a real cost to model if you are dialling cold lists with low connect rates: at a 20% connect rate, every connected call carries roughly five attempts, so about $0.075 of attempt fees lands on top of the connected-minute rate. It is not a large number, but it is invisible if you only compare headline per-minute rates, which is why it is in our table.
Which has better compliance, DILR Voice or Bland AI?
They cover different layers, and Bland wins the certification layer outright. Bland's trust page lists SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR and PCI DSS v4.0. DILR Voice has none of those badges. What DILR Voice ships instead is compliance on the calls themselves: per-country DNC checks, consent capture, opt-out recognition and a full per-call audit trail across the UK, US, India, Australia, France, Germany, Spain and Ireland. If procurement needs SOC 2, buy Bland. If your exposure is TCPA or GDPR on the dialling itself, that is the problem we built for.
Is DILR Voice a good AI cold calling platform for UK businesses?
Yes, and the UK is where we are strongest against Bland. DILR is a London company, and Voice ships per-country call compliance covering the UK alongside the US, India, Australia, France, Germany, Spain and Ireland, with DNC checks, consent capture, opt-out recognition and a full call audit trail on every call. We also publish a monthly UK and EU AI compliance changelog tracking ICO, FCA and EU AI Act updates. Bland publishes strong certifications but does not publish per-country DNC or consent handling as platform features.
